The à la Jesus
Parables: the oldest infotainment format — still working 2,000 years later.
While you could interpret some of christianity's teaching as against any favoritism, Jesus, son of God (who, in Gaelic would be called McGod), clearly had a favorite way of teaching lessons and getting his point across.
Parables!
Lots and lots of parables!
When people gathered around Jesus and listened to him talk, he would always tell a story using a parable to pass an important life lesson in a palatable and digestible way.
Parables helped Jesus keep his audience's attention by being engaging (one of the first and most popular instances of infotainment) and got his point across without sounding strict, preachy or holier-than-thou (pun very much intended).
Similarly, you can use parables in your own email list to get your point across while keeping your subscribers' attention, potentially even improving your engagement, and passing valuable lessons in a way that doesn't only increase your authority but also your Like factor.
This is an especially fun email to write that seems extremely creative without actually requiring much creativity from the writer's part.
