Hate-cromancy
Turn hate comments into content, authority, and sales.
This lesson is all about using those sweet sweet hate comments.
Everyone has some hate comments. If you don't have any, your brand is either too small or too vanilla. And if you don't have any, maybe you can start generating some with a Slim Shady email.
Hate comments are a marketing blessing.
If you handle them like most people, they will bring you down, demotivate you, and hold you from working on your "bid'niz" as Ben Settle, a master of Hate-cromancy would say.
But if you handle them like a marketer, then they will bring a smile on your face and money in your pockets.
There is ALWAYS an angle you can use to turn a hate comment into something beneficial that you can make money off of. You just need to be creative and a master of frames, like a true marketer.
Something else to keep in mind:
You should NEVER respond to a troll or hate comment personally/1-on-1
Because if you do it, you're feeding them. And if you do it, you don't have anything to gain. You just waste time.
Instead, you should ALWAYS address it publicly.
Use it in your content or emails.
And by "address it publicly", I don't mean you should deny allegations like a child.
— You Suck!
— Nuh uh!
I mean you should find a clever way to twist things.
After all, even if you want to address it head on and with a logical argument, it probably won't work, simply because hate and troll comments are inherently illogical (a reason child abuse as a thing exists in the first place... like... "why do you have beef with me mom? I'm 4 years old, I love you").
Many many ways to shut down or twist this kind of comments... way too many to share here.
But for example, one thing you can do is:
If you address your hate comments publicly, you kill at least two birds with one stone.
You address the comment. You get content fodder for FREE. You get the chance to twist it into a sales pitch for your products or services.
