The Anti-Scrooge
For the days you feel generous but not creative: hard teaching.
You know, there are some days where you wake up and you just feel extra generous.
(And somehow, they happen to also be the days where you feel the least creative).
Those kinds of days are not your fault.
And they are not your audience's fault.
But they'll pay for it nonetheless!
Because now is the perfect time to utilize, weaponize (and monetize) the power of hard teaching!
Hard teaching is frowned upon by a lot of different marketers.
But it's also proven to work wonders for others.
I am of the opinion that if you meet your audience where they're at, you can be as bland and un-creative (destructive?) as you want and still have a really good email.
Not everything that's hard is necessarily bad — look at hard rock or hard candy (both the film and the actual candy).
And so, if you do it right...
Meaning, if you find a great topic to talk about and if you're a good teacher (which many people are NOT and that's one of the reasons why hard teaching is so notorious in the email marketing space)...
Not my best wordplay, but please don't be too... hard on me 🙃
(Better?)
((…No?))
(((Tough crowd 🤷)))
